What does financial aid cover?
Financial aid covers South Texas Program Fees ONLY.  Players are responsible for their player kit, tournament fees, camps, and any other variable costs during the seasonal year.

South Texas Surf Soccer Club Scholarship Application

Objective: South Texas Surf offers financial assistance to players who can demonstrate a genuine financial need by completing the application process. The availability of funds and the extent of the financial need will be considered before the aid is granted. Applications will be evaluated based on the degree of financial need and the order in which they are received. Please note that all players who receive financial aid must reapply for it each season or year, as per their player agreement.

South Texas Surf Soccer Club Scholarship Fund Overview:

• Financial aid only applies to the program registration fees. The initial commitment fee and tournament fee remain the family's responsibility.

• To participate in the program, Financial Aid players are responsible for purchasing their player kit and necessary training equipment (shoes, shin guards, etc.)

• In order to continue receiving Financial Aid, players must maintain "good standing" by attending games and training sessions at a rate of 75%-100% and keeping a positive relationship with the Club. Failure to do so could result in the loss of financial assistance.

• All financial aid families are required to volunteer a certain number of hours, depending on the dollar amount of financial aid.

  • up to $200: 10 volunteer hours

  • $201-$400: 20 volunteer hours

  • $401-$600: 30 volunteer hours

  • $601-$800: 40 volunteer hours

  • $801 and above: 50 volunteer hours

• Proof of financial need (IRS Form 1040 or equivalent) is required for Financial Aid applicants.

• For each program they register for, Financial Aid players must apply to receive aid.

• THE FAMILY WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY ALL PROGRAM FEES IN FULL IF THE PLAYER BREAKS THEIR CONTRACT.

Administration: This scholarship program will be under the direct supervision of the South Texas Surf Soccer Club Administrator. The Scholarship Committee will make the determination of a family’s need for a South Texas Surf Soccer Club scholarship.

Criteria and Eligibility: Any family can apply for a scholarship if an economic barrier prevents the player from playing soccer. In order to assess financial need, the following will be taken into consideration in awarding the scholarship:

• Applicant must complete the South Texas Surf Soccer Club Scholarship Application Form and submit the completed application along with a copy of the first two pages of the family's most recent federal tax return (IRS Form 1040 or equivalent).

• Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Scholarship Awards: Application forms will be reviewed and awarded based on financial need, availability of funds, and team requirements.

Non-Discrimination Clause: No one will be disqualified from consideration because of sex, race, color, creed, or religious beliefs.
